The Stane Brig
The first hole is a relatively short par 4 measured at 342 yards from the white tee. Standing on the elevated tee it becomes apparent that this is a slight dog-leg to the left. The bigger hitters may be enticed into blasting their drive to get close to the green and a very realistic birdie opportunity. The danger lies just to the left of the fairway where a copse of trees await a slightly errant drive. The thinking golfer will play to the right of the trees with possibly a long iron or fairway wood. This would leave a simple short iron approach onto this two-tiered green.
This is a real tester of a hole but beware as she can have a sting in her tail!
Tip for successTee shot placed to the right allowing an easy approach with a short iron.
